In conjunction with the special exhibition, Between Frames: The Magic Behind Stop Motion Animation, The Walt Disney Family Museum is pleased to present a special master class series. These classes, offered by animation professionals, provide the opportunity for visitors to learn from industry experts. Please join us for one or all of these very special classes.
Ruben Esqueda, independent filmmaker and animation mentor since 1998, will lead a hands-on three-hour master class for animators ages 18+ at all levels of experience. Participants will become familiar with necessary short acting studies relative to the physical performance of characters in their animated scene. Working together in small groups, participants will work together to plan and animate on individual stop motion animation sets with the focus of animating a stop motion puppet. This session will focus on character acting and performance of stop motion puppets by drawing upon their own physical performance. Participants will be using full body motion and music to explore essential animation concepts, and so should dress in comfortable clothing that allows for full range of movement.
