A day devoted to food, wine and beer, pie, and community.
Featuring: Food and drink from Bi-Rite Market & Creamery, Delfina & Delfina Pizzeria, Dolores Park Café, Faye's Video, Tartine Bakery, Out the Door, Regalito, Kasa Indian Eatery, namu gaji and Izakaya Yuzuki of PARTY ON BLOCK 18. A pie baking contest will be a highlight of the event.
This is the third biennial block party, thrown by the food businesses on 18th Street to thank their neighbors for supporting them and raise money for six local nonprofit organizations. 18th Street will be closed off, and short rib tacos (namu) beef meatloaf sandwiches (Bi-Rite Market), salted caramel ice cream (Bi-Rite Creamery), mac and cheese (Dolores Park Café), mango lassi drinks and Kati rolls (Kasa) and more will be available for purchase. Wine and beer from local winemakers and brewers will be poured, and music performances will be of the youthful and local variety. A pie baking contest that includes celebrity judge Leah Garchik will be the climax of the afternoon.
All event and pie baking contest proceeds go directly to the following beneficiaries: Buen Dia Family School, 826 Valencia, 18 Reasons, Nextcourse, Holy Family Day Home and The Women's Building. Organizers include Bi-Rite Market & Creamery, Delfina & Delfina Pizzeria, Dolores Park Café, Faye's Video & Espresso Bar, Tartine Bakery, Out the Door, Regalito, Kasa Indian Eatery, namu gaji, Izakaya Yuzuki and Pot and Pantry.

Cost: Free to enter. Purchase advance food and beverage tickets at Bi-Rite Market, Delfina, Dolores Park Café, Fayes Video, and Tartine. A book of 10 costs $20. Pie contest entrants pay $20 in advance.
