Jill Parker & Foxglove Sweethearts
JILL PARKER is an exquisite performer. She is an internationally sought after, award winning belly dancer. She is the founder and pioneer of the modern tribal fusion belly dance movement. With over two decades of experience, she has trained many of the top dancers in the genre.
Jill is an original member of Fat Chance Belly Dance, founder of Ultra Gypsy, and director of the Foxglove Sweethearts. She teaches weekly classes at ODC, Dance Mission: (SF) and Spring Fall Dance Studio: (Berkeley).
Inspector Gadje is an acoustic dance machine that makes the party move!
Inspector Gadje brings a big sound to the beautiful and bumpin' brass band music of the Balkans. The driving, tight groove of low brass and drums with soaring melodies from trumpets, saxophones, and clarinet incite joy and dance from the very first downbeat. The band's name is a wink to the 1980's cartoon show "Inspector Gadget," and also to the band's "gadje" (non-Romani) identity and their efforts to breaking "Gypsy" http://stereotypes.Webww…
Spins a Romany romp through the great styles of the Balkans, complete with whooping brass, big drums, and lots of stomping and twirling. He is sure to give you something to smile about!
