Jim James is thrilled to announce his full US tour in support of his forthcoming debut solo album Regions Of Light And Sound Of God, out February 5 on ATO Records. “Hello friends!” says Jim. “I have put together a special band of some of my oldest pals to help bring this album to life on the road! We are very excited about it and cant wait to bring it to light! See ya out on the open road!” The nine songs on this album resist easy categorization, grasping influence of old-school R&B to island folk to hip-hop, each flickering into focus and then disappear throughout the album. From the hazy space-funk of the opening "State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U.)" to the chiming, operatic pop of "A New Life," Regions of Light and Sound of God is complex but cohesive, intimate and hypnotic where My Morning Jacket might turn more wide-screen and epic.
