Our Global Cuisine Series looks at the foods of different cultures, through a hands-on exploration of the history, pantry, techniques, utensils, and signature dishes of a specific cuisine. The class will cook and enjoy a full family-style menu while learning how the locals eat all across the globe.
Hot, Sour, Salty, Sweet…Thai dishes are balanced with these flavors, no matter what the region of the country. In this class, we’ll walk through this approach to cooking the native foods of Thailand. You will learn some of the key recipes of the cuisine, like curry paste and peanut sauce, using spicy chilies, lime juice, fish sauce, coconut milk, and palm sugar. Once your Thai pantry is stocked at home, you might be surprised how simple it is to make a homemade menu of your favorites right in your own kitchen.
Menu: Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce, Crispy Spring Rolls, Hot and Sour Soup with Prawns, Homemade Red Curry Paste Cooked with Beef and Eggplant, Pad Thai, and Sticky Rice with Mango.
