Jos. A. Magnus & Co. has such cocktails to serve you.
The Ivy City distillery’s Murray Hill Club Bar is serving up a spirited cocktail menu this Halloween season. The menu features seven cocktails paying tribute to classic horror icons including Freddy Krueger, Jason, and Leatherface.
These cocktails should please horror fans because it’s clear the bartenders put significant thought into the recipes.
The Hannibal Lecter features a Chianti float in homage to the cannibal’s famous quote “I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.” Thankfully, fava beans and liver aren’t included.
The Candy Man includes not only “atomized candy” but also honey. That’s an important ingredient because the man who would eventually become the Candyman was murdered by an angry mob who smothered his body in honey and chanted “Candyman” while bees stung him to death. See, he’s literally made of bees.
The Norman Bates might seem simple but as the red Pomegranate Brain melts into the clear drink it calls back to the famous shower scene (yeah, sure, the movie was black and white).
An added treat, sharp-eyed horror fans might note the cube menu is in itself a clever nod to an eighth horror franchise: Hellraiser‘s notorious Lament Configuration puzzle box.
