Your Number 1 Guide to SF Pride 2013

The Rainbow Flags are waving in the wind all over San Francisco as Pride week quickly approaches. We’ve picked the hottest events and gathered pro tips to ensure that this years Pride week is another unforgettable experience.

1. Show Up Early!
We recommend getting to the San Francisco Pride parade at 10am to reserve a spot before the crowds arrive. The best place for viewing the floats, dancers and entertainment is where the parade starts which is located near Spear, Steuart, Main and Beale Streets. It’s also a great idea to bring chairs or you can watch the parade from the comfort of a Reserved Seat in the Grandstand Bleachers.

2. Attend Both Days.
The parade doesn’t start until Sunday but the party starts on Saturday with concerts at Civic Center Plaza. This is the perfect opportunity to socialize, meet new people and support the LGBT community. There are also several booths set up that you can check out while soaking up the San Francisco sun.

3. Costumes are ALL the Rage.
We suggest wearing a bedazzled costume to the parade. This is the perfect event for going all out with flamboyant feather boas, bright colors, sequins, glitter and rhinestones. Don’t be the only person in your group not dressed to impress.

4. Score some Freebies.
Even in SF there are not many celebrations whose staple handout includes free condoms, lube, dental dams and rainbow buttons so take advantage and embrace the fact that you’re only receiving these things once a year.

5. Party all day, Party all night!
The party doesn’t stop after the parade so neither should you. There are tons of after parties to make your night legendary. We recommend Eden 2013, Sunday Eden Pride After Party and Post Dyke March ‘House of Babes’ party at Public Works.
