Single young men, single young men everywhere.
The folks at Visualizing NYC took it upon themselves to map out where all the Bay Area singles are from ages 18 to 64—the result? Most likely due to the surge in startups, the city is teeming with young, single men.
From the looks of it, young single women from ages 20-34 are hanging out in the Marina District and Cow Hollow, as well as Lower Pac Heights, Russian Hill and Nob Hill.
On the flip side, young single men from ages 20-34 are predominantly in SoMa and West Portal, but are pretty much everywhere.
Unfortunately, the data is extremely heterosexual because the it’s pulled from the US Census Bureau and they don’t ask questions about sexual orientation.
You can play around with the sliders on their map to see what other neighborhoods have the highest and lowest levels of singles…and then maybe head over to those parts to linger a coffee shop and hope for love.
