For a food city, San Francisco has a tendency to be a bit behind when it comes to food trends. Case in point, SF just recently got their first edible cookie dough shop, when DOUGHP opened in the Myriad on September 15th. Meanwhile, standout New York cookie dough star Dö (pronounced “dough”) is so popular you can find it at the Met’s stadium as well as at the storefront and online. LA caught on to the trend a year ago, and even other places in the Bay Area are into the dough. Nonetheless, we are here to tell you that these are the places you can get your cookie dough fix in California.
1418 Pinole Valley Road, Pinole, CA
Located in Pinole, this place serves ice cream as well as cookie dough served in scoop form. The owners suggest trying both together for a little slice of cookie dough heaven. Additionally, they warm up the dough to create a fresh out of the oven a little too early vibe that you need right now. Try any of the nine flavors of dough, with or without the 16 flavors of ice cream.
2715 Market St., San Francisco, CA and 601 Mission Bay Boulevard N. (SPARK Social SF)
Pronounced like “dope,” because it is, this San Francisco cookie dough shop opened to enticed crowds who created very long lines. With creative dough varieties like lavender oatmeal, and cranberry rosé, this spot ups the dough game by mixing innovation and taste. Check them out at their location in the Myriad hotel, or at their truck located in SPARK Social SF.
4664 Clayton Rd, Concord, CA
Grand Opening Date tbd but it’s gotta be soon because they just announced a pumpkin spice dough flavor and I am about it. Their other flavors include vegan options, all the toppings you could want, and fun names for flavors like Ellen Doughgenerous. Stay updated on their Facebook page.
18854 Brookhurst St, Fountain Valley, CA
If you’re willing to travel a bit, this spot boasts some inventive flavors like circus animal and orange honey. Wash the sweet treats down with a nitro cold brew, or Thai iced tea.
So which dough digs are you headed to first? Do you have a flavor you can’t wait to try? I’ve got my eye on the DOUGHP flavors for sure.
