Once the warm weather hits, everyone wants to be outside to enjoy it. It’s the perfect time to start exploring rooftop bars, and New York has plenty to explore. A little tip: almost all will cut people off once it gets busy at night, so make sure to get their early if you want to enjoy some outdoor drinking.

The Skylark

200 W 39th St, 30th Floor

This Midtown rooftop has fabulous views. The light circle is very Instagram-able.

With a retractable roof, this spot can be enjoyed any time of year. It’s decently sized, but can fill up on a good night.

Sky Terrace at Hudson

385 W 58th St, 15th Floor

While the view isn’t that high up, the ambiance makes this spot worth it. They have hammocks and lots of greenery, making it feel as if you are in a garden.

The Ides Bar

80 Wythe Ave, 6th Floor

Another one that isn’t that high up, but this Williamsburg bar still has amazing views of Manhattan. It is also gratuity free, so the prices are a little more reasonable.

Refinery Rooftop

63 W 38th St, 12th Floor

Located on the top of the Refinery Hotel in the Garment District, you’re gonna get great views of the Empire State on this rooftop.

Night of Joy

667 Lorimer St

The views aren’t why people check out this roof, but rather the fun crowd and quality craft cocktails.

During the day, you can get a meal on the rooftop. But once it gets later, less and less people will be ordering food and the vibe will become much more like a bar.

Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar

102 N End Ave, 16th Floor

Summer isn’t complete without popsicles. Make sure to grab these clever cocktails on a warm day. Plus, the views are bomb.

Gallow Green

542 W 27th St

They do really fun events on this rooftop, like a garden brunch with live music and an open buffet. You’ll definitely feel like you’ve escaped to a hidden forest with all of the greenery. Don’t forget to check out the old train car, too.
