How could Google entice us to visit a doughnut popup?

I mean, we live in a city filled with amazing doughnut shops so how could the tech giant compete with what we already have?

One, by offering the chance to “win either a brand new Google Home Mini or a couple of delicious donuts.” Two, and perhaps more importantly, making sure those doughnuts are made by one of the highest rated doughnut shops in the city: Doughnut Plant. Yep, that’s right, these aren’t just average mass-produced doughnuts picked up from a generic bakery. These are quality doughnuts, folks.

You can get these doughnuts from October 4 through 8 at the Google Home Mini Donut Shop at 465 W Broadway. Can’t make it to Manhattan (or don’t want to go to Manhattan)? Don’t worry, the pop-up shop will move to Jane’s Carousel at Brooklyn Bridge Park October 20-22. The shop, which is popping up all over the country this fall, is a promotion piggybacking off Wednesday’s announcement that Google would launch a Google Home Smart speaker to compete with Amazon’s Echo Dot.

Like Amazon’s hockey puck-shaped device, the goal of the Home Mini is to affordably extend the reach of Google Assistant into more rooms of your home.

Home Mini will officially arrive at retailers on October 19, so if you choose right at the Google Home Mini Donut Shop you could be one of the first Home Mini owners in the country.

Google doughnuts have already made appearances in both New York City and San Francisco. The photo below is of the NYC shop.
