It’s been an insane time to be in Chicago lately. Whether you’re still nursing that hangover from the Cubs’ historic win or are currently in the midst of one after those election results, there are plenty of spots to chow down on food that’ll sponge up the alcohol in the city. Here are a few greasy spoons that’ll get you back up and ready for that nap.

Chicago Bagel Authority

953 West Armitage Avenue

Obviously, their Hangover Helper sandwich was created to do the trick—with scrambled egg, ham & smoked cheddar cheese on an egg bagel. But if you have a hangover from hell, there’s always The Swanson Sandwich of Greatness—with ham, bacon, sausage, roast beef, scrambled egg, hardboiled egg, american cheese, smoked cheddar on an onion bagel with a side of maple syrup. That’ll fix you right up.

Fatso’s Last Stand

Order greasy classics with wild abandon here—they’ve got Chicago-style dogs, burgers, mac and cheese topped with bacon and salami, fried shrimp and more. It’s an ideal place to load up the day after an evening of getting sloshed. For a truly caloric afternoon, say screw it and get the Reese’s Peanut Butter Shake to pair with your greasy plate.

Au Cheval

800 W Randolph S

For a breakfast-y hangover, look no further. With options like the fries with mornay sauce, garlic aioli & fried farm egg, pictured here, as well as their crispy potato hash with duck heart gravy and ridiculously thick-cut bacon, you’ll get your fill and hopefully make the headache go away before noon.

River Roast

315 N. La Salle Drive

You know it’s good when they’ve already got hangover-themed options on the menu. Try the Hangover Soup with Pork Shoulder, Dried Chili, Hominy or the Fried Chicken Sandwich with Sriracha Pickle, Spicy Remoulade, Butter Lettuce, Brioche Bun to cure what ails you. Their 2016 menu also features Fried Rabbit and Waffles. Not enough? Go whole-hog (literally) with a friend and get a tableside rack of pork. For brunch. Then sleep that baby off.

Mindy’s Hot Chocolate

1747 N Damen Ave

A mouthwatering mix of savory and sweet options here, from buttermilk pancakes, sugar puffs, and all kinds of hot chocolate to scrambles, melts and burgers. You truly can’t go wrong.

Park Tavern

1645 W. Jackson Blvd

Did you know this place has a Footlong Grilled Cheese with cheddar, chihuahua cheese, pepper jack, candied applewood bacon, chipotle spread, topped with two fried eggs on a tuscan roll? No? How about a Crispy Buffalo Chicken Mac with buttermilk chicken tenders, three cheese fondue, bacon, buffalo sauce, green onion? Even without those, this spot has tacos, sandwiches, burgers, pizza—literally anything to suit your hangover fancy.

Dove’s Luncheonette

1545 N. Damen Ave

This looks like your regular, average diner from the outside, but trust us—it’s anything but. You’ll find unusual mashups like Chicken Fried Chicken smothered in chorizo verde gravy with sweet peas and pearl onions and a Fried Oyster Omelette with pickled peppers and a tomato-serrano confit. It’s different from your average restaurant but it will certainly hit the spot if you’re looking for something other than the same old burgers, eggs, and fried meat combo.
